On goal-less-ness

It’s funny to think—but three weeks ago, I was certain that I wouldn’t drop the daily blogging.

Funny, because I have—very much so.

Come the first of the year, I dropped blogging like a bad habit. I was somewhat surprised at my disinclination to the daily wrestling match with myself…until I remembered how unpleasant it could often be.

It’s not every day that I have a thought worth sharing with the world.

That meant, of course, that more than a handful of last year’s 365 posts were…well…just not all that interesting. Either half-baked blobs of ideas or—better but still troubling—singular shards of ideas that went nowhere.

If there’s a blogging goal this year that I’ve been ruminating, it’s a little more spit and polish on my posts. (This isn’t one of them, by the way.)
