I’m a little embarrassed to admit it: I didn’t learn how to be organized until after college.
College, though—as my wife observed the other night (as a person who did learn the essential skills of self-management in college)—is the ideal opportunity to learn such a skill.
You have four classes—let’s call them projects—that overlap in ways both intentional (mid-term assignments, exams) and not (other essays or assignments).
If you don’t plan and prioritize, you end up pulling all-nighters. (Like me! Sometimes!)
I didn’t learn this until later—in my first A/E/C role—and I can promise that I’d rather pull all-nighters at age 19 than age 26.
