On 7 things from last week (6/5/23)

  1. Stay True by Hua Hsu. A tragic but warm memoir about friendship and self identity.
  2. Visiting friends. Some wonderful college friends visited us for the first time in several years, and I was reminded how much I love incorporating friends into our household rhythms.
  3. Volleyball. What a fun game! Even though I’m mediocre at it, I had a delightful time last week.
  4. Rain. I had my suspicions—but a tweet from a local meteorologist confirmed it: last May marked one of the rainiest months in recorded Denver history.
  5. Clive Cussler Auto Museum. A chance Google Maps search for “museum” in my Arvada neighborhood a few years ago had an odd result: a museum dedicated to the late author Clive Cussler’s collection of classic cars. A visit on Saturday was well worth it.
  6. Whale of a Sale Book Sale. I love supporting my local library foundation—and I love a good book sale.
  7. Indian buffet. My first Indian buffet experience since pre-COVID was…amazing.
