On 7 things from last week (5/15/23)

  1. Rain. The amount of rain we got last week was astounding for the Front Range. Our home weather station recorded 3″ in two days, which is a shocking amount for out here. (The Denver region is in a “semi-arid” climate zone.)
  2. Tilling. Getting ready to xeriscape another section of our lawn involved 20 minutes of forearm-busting labor with a rented tiller from Home Depot. My toddler thought it was pretty cool!
  3. Shop talk. An abbreviated SMPS committee meeting last week meant that we got to squeeze in 20 minutes of shop talk. Boy, do I love talking about proposals with other marketers.
  4. ChatGPT brainstorming. I issued guidelines for my firm last week with some ideas for how they can use ChatGPT in their everyday workflow.
  5. Ordeal by Hunger by George R. Stewart. A grim but incredible account of the Donner Party.
  6. Mrs. Davis, Episode 1. WOW. Wow, wow, wow. A pilot episode that truly swings for the fences. Excited to see what more is to come.
  7. Angostura bitters. I may have overdone the bitters in an Old Fashioned on Saturday—but I didn’t mind in the least.
