Some things you can’t delegate, I am learning.
I can give a minutely detailed set of instructions with a blow-by-now video of how to make mark up a floor plan for photography…
But I can’t tell you how to think like a marketer.
I recently attempted, as you could guess, to delegate this work.
But I was met by incomprehension.
I told the Project teams to pick as many views “as their hearts desires.” I even provided what I thought would be helpful starting points if they weren’t sure how to begin.
But starting points were not enough: they were still so uncertain of the task as to be paralyzed.
They needed to put on their marketing hat to complete the task, and no such hat was in their wardrobe.
