On 7 things from last week (4/17/23)

  1. That episode of Succession. Part of me knew this was coming—but what a standout episode of TV.
  2. Thinking with Type by Ellen Lupton. As someone who does a lot of layout, I’m embarrassed to say that I never really understood the baseline.
  3. Alvvays (Alvvays). Better late than never! Finally got around to listening to the debut album of Alvvays, having obsessed over their 2022 album Blue Rev.
  4. Front Range weather. The Front Range is infamous for wild weather swings, so it surprised no one out here (though we rolled our eyes over it) to flip from 84° summer weather to a light blizzard the following day.
  5. Remember the Maine! Got to love a cocktail that sends you on a Wikipedia adventure.
  6. Long icebreakers.
  7. Petting zoos. I had more fun than my son at the petting zoo this past weekend. I mean, have you touched an alpaca recently? Ever?
